Arngel A. Ortiz

Arngel Adassa Ortiz (nee McDonald), 92 years old, passed away at Valley View Nursing Home, Frenchtown, NJ on November 22,2012. She was born in Woodlands, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, BWI on October 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Isaac and Julia McDonald. She immigrated to the US in November, 1943 and met and married Juan Ortiz of Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1952. She lived in New York City until moving to New Jersey in 2002. Angie was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She was also a devoted Christian having served on different committees at Elmendorf Reformed Church, New York City, for over 35 years. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Juan Ortiz, in 1986. She is survived by her children: Alfred Ortiz and his partner Julia Brown of Coram, NY, David Ortiz and his wife Phyllis of Pantego, TX, Robert Ortiz and his wife Patricia Murray of Chandler, AZ, Laurie Browne and her husband Roger of Lebanon, NJ, and her stepdaughter Gladys Perez of Jersey City, New Jersey; Grandchildren, Tiwanna, Christina, Dennis and Allison and step-grandchildren, Noemi, Sarah, Ismael, Israel, Gabriel, and Elizabeth. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Flushing Cemetery, 46th Ave. Flushing, NY. Interment will follow in Flushing Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 28 from 5-8 PM in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
