Daniel A. Carey, 67, of Flemington, N.J., died on Thursday, May 5, 2011 in his home. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Highway 31, Flemington, N.J. A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate Daniel s life will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, N.J. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery and Mausoleums, 551 State Route 28, Bridgewater, N.J. Dan was born on August 6, 1943, grew up in Jersey City, N.J., and married in 1968. He moved to Garwood, N.J. in 1976 and then to Flemington in 2000. He was a 1961 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and an alumni of St. Peter s College and earned an M.B.A. degree at Pace University School of Business. He retired after a 40 year career as a corporate financial manager. A man with a heart after God, Dan leaves a legacy of love, faith, wisdom, and support as a gentle family leader. His commitment to Christ was demonstrated through his love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Most important to him was spending time with his loving family and especially his beautiful grandchildren. He was also an avid sports fan. Daniel was the beloved husband of Judith (Martinetti) Carey, for 43 years; devoted father of Daniel, and wife, Vanessa, of Flemington; Christopher, and wife, Vivian, of Bridgewater; dear brother of James Carey, of Garwood; Thomas Carey, and wife, Joanne, of Westfield; Patricia Kuczynski, and husband, Joseph, of Cranford, N.J; cherished Pop Pop of Christian, Noelle, Matthew, and Grace Carey, and Pop to Ethan, Angelina, and Isabella Carey. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Gertrude Carey.
