Donald Charles Drake, 53, of Glen Gardner entered eternal rest at home after suffering a heart attack on November 5, 2014. Mr. Drake was born in Rahway, NJ, the son of Frances O. Griffin and the late Donald M. Drake. He spent his childhood years in Whitehouse Station, and graduated from Immaculata High School in Somerville; he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for a period. While there he made friends with a German family, and has been in contact with them for over thirty years. He is survived by brothers, Thomas M.(Mary) of Glenmoore, PA, Michael J. from Exton PA, and one sister, Elizabeth M. Aslin from Ann Arbor, MI; One uncle, Dr. Ralph A. Otto (Elaine) from Virginia; two aunts Patricia Devlin and Arlene Drake from Bridgewater,NJ; four nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald Francis and Timothy Eugene. Mr. Drake is a fourth degree K of C and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He has volunteered for many organizations including the Hunterdon Medical Center, Salvation Army, Culinary Angels and Meals on Wheels. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 10th at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 59 Main Street in High Bridge, NJ. Interment will be private and take place at Calvary Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
