James J. ‘Buddy’ Grimes, 77, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. He was born on May 23, 1925 in Rexburg, VA, the son of the late Joseph J. Grimes and Martha Davis Grimes and lived in Piscataway, NJ for 30 years before moving to Kingwood in 1999. During WWII he served with the U.S. Navy. Until his retirement he was a Systems Analyst employed by The City Of Newark, Newark, NJ. Mr. Grimes was a member of the VFW, Sergeantsville, NJ, the Disabled American Veterans North Jersey Chapter, the George W. Taylor Civil War Roundtable, Clinton, NJ, the Flint n’ Steel Association of the Boy Scouts of America, Plainfield, NJ, and the Merry Mixers, Kingwood, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemarie Scialli Grimes; two sons, James J. Grimes, Jr. of Stockton, NJ and Timothy M. Grimes and his wife Deborah of Ringoes, NJ; a brother Wilbert Grimes of North Bergen, NJ; and two grandchildren. A son, Jeffrey Grimes died in 1974. The funeral will begin on Friday, May 23, 2003 at 9:15 a.m. from the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ to celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
