John Macsi, 86, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. He was born on December 8, 1916 in Bethlehem, PA, the son of the late John and Julia (Ludwig) Macsi and lived in Raritan Township since 1957. He served with the U.S. Army as a medic during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. Until his retirement he worked as a carpenter employed by Carpenters Union Local 157, New York, NY. His wife Helen died in 1998. He is survived by one son, John Macsi III of Tucson, AZ; three stepsons, Tom Scheier of Tucson, AZ, Larry Scheier of Alpha, NJ, and Richard Scheier of Yardley, PA; and one niece, Julienne Pape of Highland Park, NJ. Graveside services will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 12:00 noon under the direction of the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
