John Timko, age 90, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. He was born on July 1, 1915, in Johnstown, PA the son of the late Andrew and Anna Timko. He was raised in Kuzmice, Slovakia and returned to the US in his twenties. He served in the US Army before moving to Flemington where he and his wife Mary (Soltis) Timko took up residence. John worked as a farmer and father along with being employed at RCA in Somerville, NJ for twenty years. He was best known for his love of gardening and dahlias. He was a frequent winner of blue ribbons at Flemington Fair exhibits. His wife Mary predeceased him in 1990. Surviving are his children, Allen and Linda Timko, Barbara and Marvin Salerno, John and Eileen Timko and Mary and Jim Passerello all of Flemington; a sister Mary Vasko of Kuzmice, Slovakia; four grandchildren, Brian, Patty, Keith and Teri; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Olivia. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, #38 Highway 31, Flemington, to celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen s Cemetery, Flemington.
