Maryann Horvath, 83, of Blackfoot, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Bonaventure Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Maryann was born January 9, 1927 in Maplewood, New Jersey, to Thomas J. and Ida Herbich Fanarjian. She was raised and attended schools in Maplewood. On August 21, 1948, Maryann married Stephen Horvath Jr. in Maplewood, New Jersey. Together they had two sons, Dennis and Stephen. After marriage they lived in Flemington, New Jersey, then following retirement moved to Schohaire, NewYork, where they lived for two years before moving to Port Charlotte, Florida. Following the Hurricane Charlie disaster in 2004, Maryann and Stephen moved to Blackfoot, Idaho where they resided until their health required them to move to Idaho Falls. Maryann worked as a secretary for Syntex before she married. Following marriage she began working for RCA, where she built the early production run of transistors which were used in radios and TV s. Together Maryann and Steve opened a floral shop, Horvath Florist, and operated it and SoHo Feeds for 30 years. They sold and retired from business in 1985. In her free time Maryann enjoyed playing cards, reading, and visiting with many friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Maryann was a member of the Baptist church. Maryann is survived by her husband of 61 years Stephen of Idaho Falls; sons, Dennis (Connie) Horvath of Ammon, Idaho and Stephen (Kathy) Horvath of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; brother, Thomas J. (Bernie) Fanarjian of Foley, Alabama; four grandchildren, Dawn S. Tarabochia, Brent A. Horvath, Stephen Horvath VI, and Amy Pitkins; and six great grandchildren, Amber, Branden, Clara, Ryan, Dylan and Sean. Maryann is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ..
