Robert C. “Bob” Scholink, Sr., age 90 years, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Corry, PA, March 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mae Hartman Scholink and grew up in Roaring Spring, PA. After graduating Roaring Spring High School, he enlisting in the United States Army Air Force in 1943.
After World War II, he earned a Bachelor’s degree from West Chester Teachers College and earned a Master’s degree from Indiana University. After obtaining a Teacher’s Certificate he worked as a teacher at North Princeton Neuro-Psychiatric Institute until 1986.
Bob was an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Freemason’s, Woodbury Lodge #539. He belonged to the Flemington American Legion Post #159 and he played trumpet and cornet in his beloved Blawenburg Band from 1981 until 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife, Agnes Gabovics Scholink and son, Robert Scholink, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
