Ruth M. Tauscher, age 85 years, died on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her home in Raritan Township, NJ, under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice and surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 5, 1932 in New Brunswick, NJ, daughter of the late Gabriel and Irene Tamasy, Ruth was raised in Paterson, NJ and also the Middlesex County area. She moved to Raritan Township nine years ago, having formerly lived in Colleyville, TX, Branchburg, NJ and Fullerton, CA.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ruth was an extremely proud homemaker. She made sure her children were raised with strong morals and created an environment that enabled her entire family to grow and flourish.
She was a nurturer by nature, and would always want to help however she could. Whenever she visited her family in New Jersey when she was living in Texas, her sons fondly recall that she would want to do everything from laundry to cooking dinner; anything to simply help and make them smile. Her actions spoke loudly and the love of her family is what she would most want to be remembered for.
Audrey Hepburn once said, “It’s sad if people think that’s (homemaking) a dull existence, [but] you can’t just buy an apartment and furnish it and walk away. It’s the flowers you choose, the music you play, the smile you have waiting. I want it to be gay and cheerful, a haven in this troubled world.” Ruth ensured that her family always knew that no matter what, home was a place where love would always reign supreme and hence life lessons were always imparted fairly and with deep respect.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth John Tauscher and a sister, Eleanor Borowski.
Surviving are her husband, John Alfred Tauscher, with whom she would of celebrated sixty years of marriage in March. The couple, who had a true fairytale love, were married on March 15, 1958 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown, NJ.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John K. and Kathryn L. Tauscher and Michael P. and Lisa Tauscher; her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as ‘Nana’, John H. and his wife, Kelly Tauscher, Keith A. Tauscher and Scott A. Tauscher; a brother, George Tamasy; and several extended family members and friends.
