I have met Alexei back in 1991 and we worked together closely till he left Israel with his family.
Alexei was professional but mostly noted for his gentleness and kindness. In the second company both of us belonged to the founding team of the startup and we were working together quite hard. Alexei never complained. I recall that in the first company we were in separate teams but were in close relations. One day Alexei came to work with a tie, which is not common in Israel. I realized that it was his quiet way to state that he was not pleased with his promotion. So - when we heard about the start up company, both of us decide to leave and join it. Those were great times. Alexei was always gentle, kind and never showed any anger. He never raised his voice and we all loved him and respected him.
When they decided to leave Israel we were sad but on the other hand respected their wish to fulfill their dream.
Once they moved to Princeton area, we took the opportunity to visit them when we were in NJ for a short trip.
On September 18 2020 I talked to Alexei and wished him well on his 60th birthday.
I recall that we agreed to meet once he visits Israel.
Both me and my wife were shocked to hear from Michael about his death.
We'd like to strengthen Kathy, Michael and Larissa and all the family.
Note that Alexei remains in our world through Michael and Larissa, through their look, through their character and through their everyday acts.
