Angelo Acosta, age 55 years, of Edison, NJ, died on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, June 30, 1959 and growing up in the Vailsburg section, Angelo was the son of Yris Dolly Bracero Acosta of Edison, NJ and the late Edwin Edgar Acosta. He had lived in Edison for the past fifteen years having formerly resided in Old Bridge, NJ.
He was currently a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service based out of Newark, NJ.
Angelo’s top priority in life was his family. They always came first and foremost and when his father died in 2007, everyone looked to Angelo to be the new rock for the family foundation. He was very much a “foodie” and loved to travel the world. Most of all though, he will be remembered for his patient and compassionate ways.
He was preceded in death by eight aunts and uncles who comprised this very large but close-knit family.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his sister, Carmen McAuliffe and brother, Edwin Edgar Acosta; aunts, Noemi Acosta, Silvia Ramirez, Hilda Acosta, Angelina Acosta, and Gloria Sanchez; many, many close cousins and his dearly loved friends, Carlo and Maithe and their children, Maria and Felipe. His sister Carmen lives in Albuquerque, NM with her husband, John; together they have three children: Jennifer, Johnny, and Michael; and three grandchildren Dylan, Taylor, and JeAnna. Brother Edwin lives in Bemiji, MN with his wife Sally; together they have three sons: Eddie, Anthony, and Tyler; and four grandchildren: Eddie, Ellie, Brooks, and Mila. Edwin also has a daughter, Tara, from a previous marriage; Tara has three children: Gracie, Tessa, and Macklin. Angelo loved his family dearly and had a special relationship with each and every one of them.
