Ann A. Wescott, age 79 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at home, with her loving family by her side and under the care of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born on December 1, 1942 in New Brunswick, NJ, daughter of late Louis and Margaret Csoma Nemeth, Ann was raised in Highland Park, NJ and had formerly lived in Edison, NJ prior to moving to Clinton Township.
A 1960 graduate of Saint Peters High School, New Brunswick, NJ, faith was always an important part of Ann’s world and helped her navigate her path of life. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale, NJ and while living in Edison, was a faithful parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
Working for the Edison Township Board of Education as a secretary for twenty-five years, Ann was well-regarded by her peers for her humor and hard work.
In the 1960’s Ann would meet a young Ronald Wescott and the two would hit it off and join hands in holy matrimony on May 12, 1962 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, New Brunswick, NJ. The couple would raise eight children and found strength in one another. They were looking forward to celebrating sixty years of marriage in May, and will still do in spirit as the one shared between the pair is not separated by death.
Ann stayed active after retirement, participating in both the Hunterdon County Senior Citizen Group and the Edison Senior Citizen Group. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing Bingo, any card game (do not go up against her in Rummy 500!), collecting unique treasures, especially stamps and hummel figurines, taking long walks, and spending time with her “small” family.
Some of her favorite moments in life, besides watching her children and grandchildren be happy of course, were traveling with her husband. The couple shared many travel adventures, with trips to Slovakia, Hungary, the Netherlands, England, Peru, Hawaii, China, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and all throughout the United States.
Though she will be missed, her family is reminded of the words of Timothy 4:7-8, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Rest in the sweetest of peace, Ann.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Wescott, and a grandson, Jack Wescott.
Surviving are her husband, Ron; her children and their spouses, James and Karen Wescott, Christopher and Bernadette Wescott, Julie Wescott, Eileen Wescott-Kish, Marianne and Robert McLaughlin, Kathleen and Hugh Wescott, and Elizabeth Wescott; sixteen grandchildren, Maggie, Miles, Travis, Jessica, Samantha, Sabrina, Jason, Isabel, Carlie, Emily, Kyle, Owen, Aidan, Hannah, Madison, and Ryan; a great-grandson, Nate; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and William Warger and Margaret and Robert Decker; several extended family members; and many dear friends.
Ann will lie in repose on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
