****PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF SERVICE DATES**** Anna M. Czyz, age 86, of Delaware Township, NJ died Friday, January 23, 2015 in Bridgewater, NJ. She was born August 1, 1928 in Baptistown, NJ, the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Schwartz and lived in Hunterdon County all her life. Until her retirement she was a cook at Hunterdon Central High School, Flemington. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Czyz in 1989. Two sons, Stephen and Thomas Czyz also died earlier. Surviving are seven children, Gloria Temples and Patricia Carr of Holland Township, NJ, Ronald Czyz and Debra Tarantino of Flemington, NJ, Linda Wiley of Delaware Township, NJ, Karen Poliseo of Clinton, NJ and Gregory Czyz of Ringoes, NJ; a sister, Eleanor Mozer of Kingwood Township, NJ; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Magdalen’s Church, 105 Mine St., Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 7-9 PM. You have my deepest sympathies for the passing of Anna. I met Anna when I was a new teacher at HCRHS. When I started teaching, Anna noticed that when I bought lunch it was my main meal of the day. She asked me why, and I told her that I never learned how to cook. With that piece of information , she would show me how to prepare my own "home cooked" meals, right there in the cafeteria kitchen. As I prepared my own meals, she would give me suggestions on how to improve them. She always said when seasoning food, "you can always add, but you can't take it back.". With her as my guardian angel, my culinary skills were set for life. When I would do concerts for charity, she would always come to see me. She was like the mother I never had. She touched my heart very deeply, as she always had a kind word, a piece of advice, or a new food to prepare for me to learn. Each told with loving stories of her family, and how this one did such and such and that one did that... Storied peppered with motherly love. To learn of her passing saddens me to know that the world has lost a guardian angel. However I know in my heart that the food up in heaven just got a lot better, seasoned with Anna's love, and served with Anna's kindness.
