Anthony Michael Romano, age 34 years, of Bloomfield, NJ, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Brick Township, NJ as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Newark, NJ, February 24, 1982, son of Pamela Marie Bayer of Neshanic Station, NJ and William Joseph Romano of Manchester Township, NJ, he had resided in Bloomfield for the past four years, having formerly lived in Westfield, Toms River and Manchester, NJ.
Anthony was currently working for PSE & G in New Brunswick as a Utility Mechanic. Prior to that he was a Chef at Sonsie, Atlantic City, NJ.
On Wednesday, heaven gained a true angel. Anthony Michael Romano was a loving and generous soul who treated all people as true friends. He was the first to stand up for the underdog and always saw the goodness in others. His temperament never allowed him to get angry and his smile was infectious to all those around him.
A modest athlete whose muscles were never as big as his warm and loving heart, Anthony went by the motto of “live and let live.” This helped form lifelong friendships and keep family united even through distance.
An amazing Chef who could cook almost anything, he loved to work out and live a healthy lifestyle. He was an extremely hard worker and at the same time also tried to live each day to the fullest. His creative, caring and honest personality are but several traits that will leave there eternal impression on all those who knew him.
Anthony was the life of any party and could always be found on the dance floor; one time, even with a broken leg and foot, he danced so hard he cracked the boot off of his cast. This zest for living life, being kind to one another and cherishing each day is what Anthony would want everyone to remember about him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Bayer and an aunt, Julie Liccardi.
In addition to his parents, he his survived by his loving wife of six years, Mina Lazova Romano; a brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas Anthony and Tara Romano of Carlsdat, NJ; his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Elsie Boeglin Romano of Barnegat, NJ; his maternal grandfather, Earl Bayer of Neshanic Station, NJ; his step-mother, Donna Romano of Manchester Township, NJ; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mirella Lazova and Evgeny Lazov in Bulgaria; his niece, Adelaide Elise Romano; his godson, Kyle Gonzalez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his cherished Boston Pug/Terrier, Jewels.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Berbary will take place Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley, NJ 07110 under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, 08822. Everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at church on Wednesday morning.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date.
