Carolyn “Curly” Ann Urdiales, age 51 years, of Justin, TX, former longtime resident of New Jersey, died peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023, in Fort Worth, TX.
Born on November 24, 1971, in Denville, NJ, daughter of Elizabeth Roche and the late Allan T. Carpenter, Carolyn was raised in Succasunna, NJ, and had lived for many years in Hillsborough, as well as Hunterdon County, NJ, prior to moving to Texas several years ago.
A graduate of Gill St. Bernard’s School in Chester, NJ, Carolyn attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Growing up with a love of animals and being very involved with both horses as well as the 4-H of Morris County, NJ, it was during her college years where Carolyn truly found her life’s calling. She developed what would become a lifelong passion for French bulldogs, eventually becoming a renowned breeder and trainer. Within the breed, she pioneered the magnificence of lilac-colored French bulldogs, leaving an unforgettable mark on the canine community.
Carolyn’s dedication to her furry companions was unparalleled. Her canine household, spanning generations, stood as a testament to her commitment towards finding forever homes for her beloved French bulldogs. She possessed a heart of gold and devoted her life to matching each person with their furry soulmates, bringing immense joy and unconditional love into countless lives. She was also known to ensure that children who were sick were able to become the “Mom” or “Dad” of one of her puppies, all at no charge to the child or their family.
Beyond her passion for breeding, Carolyn was a true New York Giants fan, always captivating those around her with her unique ability to bring laughter to any room. Everyone shared a chuckle at her gift of providing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleading Squad with furry companions. She and the squad formed a true bond over the French Bulldogs, even if they were not cheering for the same team.
Her love for adventure extended beyond football, as she enjoyed scuba diving and had a green thumb that brought forth bountiful vegetable gardens, flourishing fig trees, and a deep reverence for nature’s beauty.
Carolyn’s lasting legacy though, that will forever be a testament to her compassionate and nurturing spirit, is surely her cherished daughter, Tayler Ann. Carolyn’s was truly a devoted mom who idolized her daughter and did whatever was needed in order to make sure she was always well cared for and knew that she was loved.
As we remember and celebrate Carolyn’s remarkable life, we will fondly recall her infectious smile, her ever-present warmth, and her selfless nature. Her benevolence knew no bounds, and she was forever ready to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice, touching the lives of friends, family, and strangers alike. She brought immeasurable joy and warmth to the lives she touched, and through her genuine empathy and unwavering love, she will forever be a beacon of light in both the canine world and in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her father, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved step-father, Richard Roche, in 2021.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Tayler Ann Urdiales and Jayden Ferguson; her mother, Elizabeth Tsoucalas Roche; her sister and brother-in-law, Christine Ann and Sean Thompson; her step-sister, Debra Roche; her nieces, Elizabeth Ann LeBeau and her husband, William, and Sydney Ann Thompson; her cousins who were like her siblings, Michael, Anthony, Jackie, and Patrick; her special second cousins, Nick and Sam; the father of her daughter, Nick Urdiales; her French Bulldogs which span many generations; several extended family members; and many dear friends made wherever the path of life took her to touch hearts.
