Christopher A. Sohnen passed away, suddenly and peacefully, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, leaving behind his beloved family and friends to retire to his final resting place.

Chris was the sole owner of Green Life Landscape & Design, proudly servicing many clients since 2018.

If you knew Chris, you knew he had a gift to connect with everyone around him in a deeper way than most. He observed the sadness or stressors in others and at the same time would ensure that he could light up a room with his quick wit, smile and funny jokes.

Chris loved his special times with his wife, Christina, and their beautiful son, Chase. Wherever their travels took them was always an adventure, but they thrived at the Jersey Shore, where Chris and Christina joined life together with the ocean as their witness. They believe in the calmness and the healing powers of water and always made sure it was a distinct part of their lives. He enjoyed family and friends, in ways such as, events, gatherings, home cooked dinners by his dad, cousin nights, beach days, boat rides, and most of all, stories reminiscing the past.

In his younger years, he enjoyed playing ice and roller hockey and creating funny situations with his brothers and friends. Chris was a true fan of the NY Rangers (despite Christina being a NJ Devils fan), but they frequently attended hockey games and were able to share their love for the NY Giants – no matter their record.

Christopher will be missed tremendously by his loving and devoted wife, Christina, and his pride and joy, his son, Chase; his ever-loving parents, Carol and Andrew; loyal brothers, James and Michael, sister-in-law, Moska, nephew, Adam, and niece, Sofia; his loving in-laws, Marie and Pat Mirra; his sister-in-law, Lisa (and Kris); his faithful canine companion, Remy; as well as his many caring and fun aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Chris carried the light that could only be given by our God. If you truly knew him, his light is a part of you now and will always be. We will hold him in our hearts forever.

Chris will lie in repose on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Matthew Marinelli will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is kindly requested to meet directly at the church on Monday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. Please follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Care Team Family Ambassadors upon arrival.

For those who are unable to celebrate Chris’s life in person with the family, the Mass will be live-streamed beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Monday.

Interment at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ, will be private.
