Clarence C. Kaloud, age 98 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born May 29, 1917, son of the late Charles and Anna Pesko Kaloud, he had resided in Readington since 1964, having been born and raised in Plainfield, NJ.
A graduate of Plainfield High School, Clarence was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, entering in 1941 and being honorably dischraged in 1946. He went on to become a pattern maker for over thirty years with R. Hoe & Co., Dunellen, NJ and then became a cabinet maker for Engo Co., South Plainfield, NJ.
Clarence was a true “salt of the Earth” type of man. He worked hard to support his family and would do anything to help a friend. He built his own home on Rockafellows Mill Road in Readington Township and always enjoyed tinkering and fixing his cars. The Packard’s were his favorite. He could always be found doing something outdoors, from hunting to spending a day at the beach. Above all though, his family was his first priority and anything his did was for “his girls.”
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Michelina Madonna Kaloud in 2002 as well as by his brother, Victor Kaloud.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judith and Martin VanArsdale of Columbus, NJ, Dianne and Gabor Ravasz of South Windsor, CT and Nancy Kaloud of Holmdel, NJ; four grandchildren, Timothy VanArsdale, Laura and husband, Anthony Moran, Kristin Gibson and Caroline and husband, John Campbell; and four great grandchildren, Dominic Meucci and Robert, Nicholas and Kerri Moran; and many friends.
