Clifford Henry Sigle, 85, of Alexandria Township, New Jersey died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Born April 10, 1935 in Princeton, New Jersey to the late Fred and Mildred Sigle, he raised his family in Milltown, New Jersey prior to moving to Alexandria Township in 2005.
After graduating high school, he served in the Army and then married the love of his life Mabel (nee Bergfelder) on June 13, 1959. That same year, as an excavator by trade, he started his own business, Sigle Excavating LLC which he owned and operated until he retired three years ago.
Apart from building a successful business, Cliff was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. As empty nesters, Cliff and Mabel “retired” to a farm where they raised goats and enjoyed time with their family and friends. Cliff will be remembered by those who knew him for his loyalty to family and friends, his steadfast work ethic, his integrity and his dry sense of humor.
Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mabel Sigle; his children, William Sigle and his wife Andrea, Susan Economou and her husband Andoni, and Kimberly Zawrotniak and her husband Kenneth; a brother, Fred Sigle and his wife Eileen; a sister, Janet Vitanza; his grandchildren, Emily Diminick and her husband Travis, Grace Economou, and Elias Economou; extended family; and dear friends.
A memorial gathering will take place from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Funeral services and interment will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to St. Peter’s Foundation, 254 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, or online by clicking HERE.
