Conrad “Skip” Kirchner, age 77 years, of Neshanic Station, NJ, died on Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, May 6, 1937, son of the late Louis and Helen Ballard Kirchner, Skip grew up in Lodi, NJ and had resided in Neshanic Station for the past thirty years. He had formerly lived in Flemington Borough.
He was a retired buyer for Flemington Furs where he had worked for over thirty years. Prior to that, he was a manager for United Parcel Service.
A communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Three Bridges, NJ, he was an avid golfer, bowler and loved hard work. Anything with business and finance was right up his alley. His heart was tender as it was kind, and Skip was known to be available to help anyone, day or night, with anything they needed, even if it was just an ear to listen.
His family was his highest priority and he will be lovingly remembered as a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Kirchner, Jr.; a sister, Jeannie Goulden; and two nephews, Wayne and Brian Layton.
Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Bozenna H. Kurkowiak Kirchner, with whom he joined hands in marriage on July 24, 1964; two sons, Robert S. Kirchner of Shippensburg, PA and Bill Kirchner of Raritan Township, NJ; three grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda and Danielle; three sisters, Marie Brann of Bonita Springs, FL, Phyllis Schellonbaum of Phoenix, AZ and Margie and her husband Bob Hausleiter of Roswell, GA; two sisters-in-law, Lilly Pachonowa of Flemington, NJ and Danuta Layton-DuBois of Katy, TX; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ under the care of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Everyone is respectfully asked to meet directly at the Church on Wednesday morning.
