On November 13, 2022, Laura and Dave, and Ed and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Tewksbury Inn, a quaint, historic stagecoach stop built in the 1800s. We talked, laughed and took pictures. After dinner, Laura and I walked to a nearby shop which gave Ed and Dave a chance to reminisce about fun times. It was a perfect evening. On April 13th, 2023, Dave passed away. Over the years, I enjoyed many interesting conversations with Dave when they spent the Christmas holidays in Colorado. Mostly, what I will remember was his great sense of humor. He always made me laugh. Thank you, Dave, for the wonderful memories. Barbara

I first met Dave when I was 13 years old, and he was dating my beautiful sister, Laura. I immediately thought that he was so cool—smart, funny, athletic and so handsome. And I was right! My future brother-in-law was like the older brother I never had. As I think about all the years since then, more adjective come to mind: kind, so nice, very accomplished and, of course, the best dentist! Dave and I spent many days together doing so many varied things—playing sports (he always won), playing games and chess (he always won), crabbing on Barnegat Bay (we tied there), working on projects, celebrating holidays—and those memories are what keep me from being overwhelmed with sadness now. He left us much too soon, but boy, what a great life he had! He was my friend. Rest in Peace, David Edmond DiRenna

Dear Laura and family, We are so sorry for your loss. We were his patients the whole time he had his office in East Hanover. I felt that I knew you guys all my life. He was an excellent dentist and a good storyteller. We had many laughs with him through the years. Laura, thank you for being a good listener. We had many interesting conversations. It's been difficult finding a dentist as good as he. With our deepest sympathy,

Robin and I extend our deepest sympathy to Laura, Anthony and all other family members. I hunted and fished with David many times in many places including New Jersey, the Catskills, Massachusetts, Montana and Maine. In our younger days, David and I played a stick ball game behind Clinton School in Maplewood, and I can state that David was a terrific baseball player! I was also a patient of David from the day he opened his dental practice to the day he retired. The fact that I still have my original teeth is a testament to David's great skills as a dentist. I introduced David to fly fishing and he introduced me to bird hunting. Our third pal, Ronnie Ennis, was often with us. Ronnie and I have some great memories of David. Somewhere in those boxes that we all keep, there are some pictures of David doing what he loved to do best- hunt and fish! Goodbye David- I will see you again on the rivers and fields accompanied by our Brittany Spaniels when it is time for us to meet!
