Todd Cook left a message on July 7, 2023:
I had the pleasure of serving on the Planning Board with Edna for many years. Edna’s knowledge of the past and her progressive vision for the future made her an effective Planning Board member. Although all applications were announced by Lot & Block, Edna always brought up the families, who lived where when, and patchworks of back stories of properties throughout the Borough and the reasons of why somethings were the way they were. Edna saw it all in Flemington: from the Trial of the Century when she she was a little girl, to the building of highways linking us to surrounding towns, the rise and fall of commuter train travel, the Union Hotel in its various transformative stages, Foran Steel Foundry becoming Liberty Village; Liberty Village then becoming the first outlet center in the nation, and now prime for redevelopment yet again. Her knowledge of the past and how it influenced the future was unsurpassed. Edna’s participation in Flemington will ensure vitality once again as she was able to articulate and understand the cycles, up and downs and learn how to repeat past successes within the Borough. After all, she really had…. seen it all! Flemington has been forever changed and improved upon thanks the work of Edna on both the Planning Board and Shade Tree Commission. She will be missed but her vision of Flemington will live on forever. Thanks Edna, for allowing me the time we spent at so many late night meetings and the banter we shared. I am grateful and a better person for having known you.

Our dearest Edna, what a role model you were. Fiercely independent, strong willed, said what had to be said, but at the same time kind, gentle and considerate. You had principles and always acted as a true lady. You thought of others and made a huge difference in your community and in our lives especially. We were privileged to have known you and to call you friend. We consider you family and you will be sorely missed. Thank you for teaching us and being an inspiration to all us. Thank you for the memories and the lessons. We cherished our time together. Love Kelli and NIcole
