Elizabeth Anne Stites, age 66 years, of Hamilton, NJ, died peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021, surrounded by her family at Robert Wood Johnson University Hosptial, Hamilton, NJ.
Liz was born on September 3, 1954 in Flemington, NJ to William E. and Betty Jean Adams. She was the oldest of six children, graduated from Hunterdon Central High School and was a former member of the Flemington United Methodist Church. Liz moved to Florida in the early 80’s where she eventually met her husband, Robert Stites. They raised two beautiful children Robyn and Alex. Liz was a devoted Christian and was very involved with ministries at First Assembly of God in Ft. Myers, FL.
She had a passion for ballet, teaching children and treasured her time spent with family and friends.
Liz loved spending her free time at the beach.
She formerly was the Director at Growing God’s Way Preschool in Ft. Myers, FL.
Liz was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Stites, whom she remained best friends, and her father William E. Adams.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Jean Adams; her siblings, William E. Adams, Jr. (JoAnn), Jayne LaMothe (Bob), Holly Thatcher, James Adams (Holly Gay), John Adams (Colleen); her children, Robyn Stites Shutak (Brad) and Alex Stites (Shelby); grandchildren, Paige, Jamar, Allison, Henry, and Sophia; a great grandson, Kyree; and many nieces and nephews.
Liz was known for her loving, kind and compassionate spirit. Holidays and family gatherings were always treasured times for Liz.
Private Celebration of Life Services will be held this summer.
