Girard Moscato, age 74 years, of Salisbury Township, PA, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 5, 1941, son of the late Frank and Anita (Gentile) Moscato, he was a longtime Hunterdon County, NJ resident.

Girard was a hairdresser at Legend Salon in Flemington, NJ and previously owned and operated Hair Quarters, Flemington, NJ.

He was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, Springtown, PA and was also an avid runner, participating in 22 marathons world – wide throughout his life.

Surviving are his loving daughter and son-in-law, Stacey B. and Richard J. Obrochta with whom he resided; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Pati Moscato of Harrison, NY; three grandchildren, Amanda and husband, Marques Repsher, John “JT” Mahoney, and Brooke Mahoney; and a great grandson, Kade Repsher.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, preceded by a memorial visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Gerry will be greatly missed. I have known him at least 30 yrs since I was a young girl from going to Hair Quarters & then Legends. He always made it a point to say hello & ask me how my family was doing. I remember on many occasions watching him do so many of his clients hair with care, patience & great precision. I remember most how happy the people felt when he finished with a final spray. He touched many lives & made people smile through his vocation & proabably didnt even know it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gerry and his family..We had the pleasure of meeting him 31yrs. ago.When he retired we missed him so very much..We were foodies, loved to here about his cruises, chatted about his love for fitness & his loyal clients..miss you love, Nancy & Jack

Gerry was my hairdresser and confident for many years. He was so kind, funny and generous. He always knew where we left off on our last visit and I treasured our time together. He was so supportive when my new born son had cancer four years ago. He also gave my daughter her first haircut. What a kind soul. I will miss him. I am so sorry for your loss. He was very proud of his family and had a smile that went on for miles when he spoke of them.

Jerry was exceptionally kind to my mom after she moved to Hunterdon county. Jerrys professionalism, along with his warm and friendly manner, always made her feel better, even as her health challenges increased. May he rest in peace.
