I have been searching for Hillary for several years and am so, so sorry to have learned of her passing. She was my closest friend during Jr HS and MUSIC AND ART HIGH SCHOOL. We would get home, change into our sneakers and run to the play ground in Parkchester, where we lived. I often spent time in Hillary's home and of course knew Bob as well. Hillary was the most genuine, good, kind person and I have missed her so over the years. One day an uncle of hers gave us a free pass to Playland. And boy, did we have a wonderful day. I am so happy to have learned of a good marriage, children and grandchildren. My heart, although sad, is full. Goodbye dear friend.

Dear Neal and Family, I was just made aware (10/23/20) of Mrs Tobin's death and I send my condolence. You might remember, Mrs Tobin was my 6th grade teacher the first year after you were married and at the start of the school year I would slip and call her by her maiden name and she was proud to correct me. She had book-ends with the letter 'H' on them and I remarked: "now they just mean your first name". I also remember the story of the cat that fell out of the NYC window and lost/broke teeth but other than that was fine. During the 70's, 80's and 90's there were various times when I had the privilege of running into her. The last I do believe was when she was dropping off your daughter to take the SAT and I was there to administer. We had a very nice chat. When I think back on my years as a student Mrs Tobin remains my top number-one teacher.

I have been so saddened by Hillary's passing but talking with her shortly before the time came to leave this world and go "home" to her Heavenly Father I knew the time was short by hearing the weariness in her voice. What a blessing she had been to me over the many years beginning with our college days. Married to her brother whom she adored, Hillary and I decided to take the "in-law" out of our relationship and be sisters instead, since neither one of us had a sister. Oh how special that was to both of us and I couldn't have asked for a more loving or better sister than Hillary. I loved her sense of humor, the forever love she had for husband Neal and the constant protective love she had for her children and grandchildren. I knew I could always depend on Hillary for prayer and a listening ear for my family concerns. How grateful I am that I had her in my life for those many years. I miss her now but grateful she is no longer in pain and in the arms of her blessed Savior , the Lord Jesus Christ. Her smile was infectious and I could always count on her to see the bright side of life situations. Hillary is missed greatly but her life and the love she had for each one of us will not be forgotten. To God be the glory.

I first met Hillary playing volleyball in Bridgewater where we both taught. Years later we met at Round Valley, both there with our young children. We each had 2 sons and a daughter and interestingly each had a son named Brian. Our sons ended up in the same grade at Hunterdon Central where Hillary and I met again. It's been many years since I've seen her and just thought about her today only to find out that she had recently passed away. Neal and family, I am so sorry for your loss and also so pleased that I had the pleasure to know Hillary. May she rest in peace.
