Inge Marion Seidorf (née Ottmann), age 96 years, of Monroe Township, NJ, a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Born on January 1, 1926, she emigrated from Germany following World War II where she first settled in New York City with family who had fled during the war. She would later move to Cambria Heights in Queens, NY, and then to Elmont on Long Island, NY, before retiring in 2001 and settling at the Concordia Senior Community in Monroe Township, NJ to be closer to her family.
Inge spent her senior years extremely active and enjoyed traveling, knitting, needle point, and card games. She loved the sunshine and was happiest spending time at the beach or swimming at the local pool. Inge was also notorious at family gatherings for baking her famous cheesecake which was enjoyed by all.
In addition to many of her family that perished at the hand of the Nazi regime during the Holocaust, Inge was preceded in death by her brother, Klaus Ottmann; her cousin, Lore Loeb; her nephew, Arnold Seidorf; and her cherished husband, Herbert.
Inge is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Seidorf; her two grandsons David and his husband, Kevin, and Andrew; a cherished great-grandson; her dear cousins who were like sisters, Edith Rolnik and Ruthie Greenbaum; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family; and many dear friends.
The Seidorf family is grateful for the care of Dr. Robert Spierer and his staff, and wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to Grace Hospice as well as the compassion of Inge’s amazing caregiver, Kim Lauria, for all the support given to Inge and the family during her final journey. They also wish to extend their gratitude to Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County for the care and love they provided.
