James F. Coffey, age 86 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died peacefully at Hunterdon Care Center on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Born in Manhattan, NY, on October 6, 1936, to the late William and Mary Couthlin Coffey living in the Bronx, NY, before moving to Sergeantsville, NJ, in 1977.
James worked for the New York Life Insurance Company for forty-two years. He will be missed by many co-workers and friends, which he made over the years he worked, before retiring in 2000.
Family and friends will remember him through the times spent together laughing, listening to Irish music, and telling stories. They will enjoy the memories they all have from the beach house that they would rent at the Jersey Shore in Lavallete, NJ. From holidays to simple daily moments, everyone will always treasure the times spent together with James.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Eileen Coffey; two daughters, Miriam & Siobhan Coffey; his brother, John Coffey; two grandchildren, Vera & Sophie; several extended family members; and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father John Primich will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is kindly asked to arrive at the church on Wednesday morning at 9:45 a.m., and to follow the instructions of the Wright & Ford Care Team Family Ambassadors upon arrival.
Interment will take place privately.
