Janet Trenery

March 1, 1952 - May 2, 2017

Janet Trenery, of Raritan Boro, NJ, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, with her loving son, Chris, by her side.

Born in Somerville, NJ, March 1, 1952, daughter of Margaret Mary Hawkins Scaler of Clinton Township, NJ and the late Edward Scaler, she had resided in Raritan Boro for the past forty-five years.

A 1970 graduate of Somerville High School, Janet worked for many years at Sears in Bridgewater and Plainfield, NJ.

Janet was a woman of faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in East Millstone for many years and most recently was very involved with Calvary Bible Church, Readington, NJ, where she worked with the children’s programs as well as with the homeless program. She put her faith into action but never forced anyone to follow her beliefs. Simply put, she was kind to everyone she met and her compassion for others is what directed her life.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her son, Christopher Trenery of Raritan Boro, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Deanna Scaler; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Randy Scott; a nephew, Alex; a niece, Gabrielle; and many friends.

Funeral arrangements and cremation at Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ are private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

BT, If ever there was a mother who loved her son through and through, it was yours. Growing up, I didn't have a lot of interaction with your mom, but I got to know her a lot better over the past couple years. She was a wonderfully kind person and had a good heart. I am deeply saddened by her passing, and I can't even imagine what you are going through. What I do know, Chris, is that, while not connected by blood, you have a lot of family you can turn to in this time of need. There are so many people out there who love you, and a lot of that is owed to the fact that you share your mom's goodness in your heart. You have been my best friend and my brother since before I can remember, and I want you to know that whatever you need, whenever you need it, I am here for you. You don't have to go through this or anything else alone. I know going through this is extremely tough on you, but you need to know that there are many, myself included, who love you like family and who will gladly be the shoulder you can lean on when you need it. I love you, brother, and I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers.

Chris, I am so sorry for your loss. Janet was such a nice person. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. We were in the same graduating class at Somerville High School.

Chris & Family My sincere condolences as Janet and I have been friends since 4th grade and still saw each other. She will be missed dearly as she was always a joy to have around she always made me laugh and talked for hours. RIP my friend.

Janet will be greatly missed by many especially by me. We would talk for hours about important things that were taking placein our lives andtodays events andhow they related to the bible for hours either in person or over the phone. as well as memories we shared as kids. we would laugh as some of the stunts that we pulled off as kids. Most of all it was the seed that she planted about the Lord that took hold in my life.Because of her witness about her faith I accepted the Lord into my lifeback in 1979.

I will miss Janet. She was friends with my Mom, Nancy Jacobsthat is how I met Janet. After my Mom passed, we kept in touch through cards and phone callsI live in PA. Janet was a lovely lady and very caring. Beginning of April I tried calling her phone numbers but could not get through. She was in my thoughts and prayers. Janet was amazing during her battle with cancer. Always upbeat and had her faith. Janet's familyso sorry for your loss. During one of my phone calls with Janet, she mentioned some day she would be having tea with my Mom. I hope they have found each other in heaven and having a good time. Again so sorry for your loss.
