Jared David Yazujian, age 19 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his home.

Born in Trenton, NJ, May 4, 2000, son of Christina Aline Yazujian (nee Martinez) and David Levon Yazujian, he was a lifelong area resident.

A 2018 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Jared was currently employed as an Equipment Operator and Truck Driver with John P. Martin Excavating, Flemington, NJ. Over the years he had formerly been employed by Bellsflower Nursery, Tony Szwed Landscaping, and Advanced Drilling. He was known as a hard and conscientious worker who made the workday fun, as well as productive.

Jared’s story began many years ago when he was born as the youngest child and only boy to Christina and David. He loved this position in his family and often used it as negotiating power for some of life’s “essentials” like quads, dirt bikes, endless other outdoor equipment, and many, many truck parts. All kidding aside, he charmed them all with his contagious smile, powerful eyes and persistence.

His sisters recall their brother as a good-hearted, goofy young man that would do anything for anyone. To his parents, Jared was their “baby boy” who grew into a proud young man by navigating his own way through life. He enriched their lives by sharing his planned life’s path with his unique goals and dreams. With this, he reminded them that there were different ways to achieve life’s aspirations. Jared portrayed what strength and perseverance meant with his strong work ethic and his always caring heart.

His friends, teachers, and all who knew him, consistently refer to his smile and his uncanny ability to make anyone feel special. Jared, with his desire to always have fun yet also always driven to be successful, took pride in all he did and was always inspiring others to be better versions of themselves.

Jared was involved in many things: he was a member of the Dilts Corner Dairy 4-H, a Junior member of the New Jersey Holstein Association, associated with Penn Breeze Farm and Eagles Nest Farm, wrestled at Hunterdon Central High School, was a member of the Bucks County Racquet Club, and would always be doing various things with his friends from working on diesel trucks to bailing hay. He also loved to go hunting, drive anything with wheels and a gear shift, and just simply be out with his friends enjoying nature and life.

One of Jared’s favorite activities though, is also one that shows his true persona. For the past two years he was an active participant with the DePaul Brothers Toy Drive. This annual, December holiday event aims to fill dump trucks with toys which are then delivered to various Children’s Hospitals in the Philadelphia area.

Jared loved to gather donations from family and friends, as well as spending much of his own time and hard-earned money on prepping the trucks, shopping for new toys for the kids and participating in the day-long delivery, all to help make the holidays just a bit more special for the children and their families.

So many reading this are still stunned as to why Jared would choose to end his life. So many are wondering what they missed or how they could have stopped him. So many are wondering why Jared did not reach out.

Sadly, these questions may not ever be answered. Jared did want people to know that this was no one’s fault. It is the heartfelt prayer of the Yazujian family that no one blame themselves for Jared’s decision, but rather take all he was and is into our hearts and minds and continue to move forward by living full and meaningful lives.

Death does not end Jared’s story. A life as vibrant and as full as his cannot end simply because there is an end date after “the dash” of his birth date. Jared filled “his dash” with pure love and genuineness. Please keep Jared’s memory alive and help write the next chapters of his story by smiling at strangers and being kind. The simple things are often the most important things.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dr. Levon D. Yazujian, M.D. in 2007, and his maternal grandfather, Jorge J. Martinez in 2019.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his two sisters, Lauren and Morgan Yazujian; his maternal grandmother, Dolores Martinez; his paternal grandmother, Dolores Yazujian; his aunts and uncles, Amy and Brian Roman and Mark Yazujian; his cousins, Lila Yazujian and Matthew and Kevin Roman; his four-legged companions who loved to snuggle with him on the couch, Oakley, Luna and Rocco; and many, many cherished friends who will forever be touched by his smile and tender heart.

Friends may visit on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. The outpouring of love and support for the Yazujian family has been tremendous; therefore, please plan your timing accordingly when attending the visitation. Kindly follow the instructions of the police and traffic signs as you near the funeral home. If you are handicapped or have a special need, please inform the parking attendants upon arrival. Additionally, the family will have several memory books around the funeral home where you are encouraged to share a loving memory of Jared for them to treasure as they reflect back on the remarkable legacy that he leaves for all.

A celebration of Jared’s life officiated by Certified Celebrant D. J. Wright will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Razberry’s Banquet Center, 834 Route 12, Frenchtown, NJ. Due to the anticipated volume of people attending to support the Yazujian family, everyone is encouraged to begin to arrive at Razberry’s starting at 10:15 a.m. to ensure an 11:00 a.m. start when the family arrives.

I must begin by expressing my sadness and shock at hearing the news of Jared's passing. At the same time I have to say that reading about Jared's life was a pleasure. While I may not have anything new to add, I can say that it was great to watch him grow from the cute little guy he was when your family moved here, into the rugged young man that he became. It was not too long ago that his roaring diesel truck shook the neighborhood at 5 or 5:30 m, and since I was awake anyway, i couldn't help but be impressed that this young guy is getting up so early to put in a hard day's work. Now and then we would casually run into each other, and he was always sweet and polite, so David and Christina I commend you on raising a son you can be proud of.

Please pull together in this time of grief, and focus on that family love for each other, and lean on other family and friends when you need extra support.
