Joan G. Billera, age 93 years, of Nazareth, PA, former forty year resident of Bath, PA, died peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, PA.
Born in Chicago, IL, Joan was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with compassion, joy, and a relentless dedication to those she held dear.
Joan’s journey began in Chicago, but it was in a convent in Indiana where she was raised, instilling in her a spirit of discipline and resilience that she carried throughout her life. As she grew, Joan embarked on her own path, relocating to Fort Lee, NJ, and then to Clinton, NJ, where she would meet the love of her life, Joseph Anthony Billera. It was a serendipitous encounter as they danced together, but it was love at first sight for both of them. Their love endured through the years, becoming an inspiration for all who knew them and though her heart broke when Joe died in 2021, Joan always knew she would be reunited with him one day.
For many years, Joan served as a lab technician at Johnson & Johnson in Raritan, NJ, contributing her expertise to the pharmaceutical industry. Her dedication and meticulousness in her work made her well respected by her colleagues.
Beyond her career, Joan was a beacon of warmth and love for her family. She treasured her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and her family brought immeasurable joy into her life. Joan’s unconditional love and nurturing spirit created bonds that will forever hold her family close.
As we bid farewell to Joan, we take solace in the extraordinary impact she had on our lives. Her compassionate and caring nature touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her presence will be deeply missed. Joan’s light may no longer be visible to our eyes, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
In addition to her dear husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Joseph Halloran, as well as by a daughter-in-law, Susan Peters, and a grandson, Peter Halloran.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Christine Sebroski and her husband, Andrew Yarborough; a step-son, Scott Billera; her grandchildren, Trevor Halloran and his wife, Erin, Chad, Brianna, Sydney, and Casey; and her great grandchildren, Guenivere, Morgan, and Riley.
