John Henry Stalowski, Jr., age 65 years, of Union Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, former longtime Linden, NJ, resident, died peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on May 5, 1957 in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Helen Stalowski. He resided many years in Linden, NJ, before moving to Plainfield, NJ, and then to Hunterdon County almost three years ago.
A 1975, graduate of Linden High School, he was awarded a letter for his accomplishments on the track team. He would go on to work for National Steel Rule Co. in Linden for many years.
John enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, Henry and Eva, riding his bicycle, and making frequent camping trips with the family. He also kept journals of his drawings, and enjoyed making model airplanes. Living near the Linden Airport generated an interest and passion in airplanes and flying, and sometimes the pilots would take him for a ride into the clouds.
Extremely religious, John was a regular communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Linden, as well as would attend mass several times a week at St. Bernard’s church in Plainfield, NJ, where his spiritual advisor, Father Frank, knew John well and always had a friendly greeting for him.
John was very sociable and had many friends where he resided at Country Arch Care Center. Bingo, church services, holiday parties, and TV in the great room were some of his favorite activities. With a very generous and giving nature, John enjoyed sharing his special treats with his fellow friends and residents.
Surviving are his siblings; Donna Dumont and her husband, Chris of Ocean View, NJ, Christopher and his wife, Cheryl of Flemington, NJ, Richard and his wife, Isabel of Palmetto, FL, Glen and his wife, Janet of South River, NJ, and Ellen Carter and her husband, Edward of Parsippany, NJ; his nieces; nephews; great nephews; extended family; and many dear friends.
