He then moved to Bloomfield, NJ and had lived in Whippany, NJ for thirty-three years prior to moving to Raritan Township ten years ago.
A United States Air Force veteran, John faithfully served his country from 1963-1967, when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
John was retired from ECI Technologies, Totowa, NJ after serving many years as a Production Manager.
A humble man, John will be forever remembered as a quiet, sensitive, family man who would do anything for his family and friends.
Kind and generous, John was known as “MacGyver” to anyone who knew him, due to the fact that he could fix just about anything, anywhere, anytime.
He was not one to teach through orations, but rather spoke his mind through his actions, which were always deliberate and purposeful. These actions were done usually to help teach others about being good people and being kind to one another. His children and grandchildren will never forget this legacy that John leaves with them.
Surviving are his loving wife, Judith Sibilia Macholtz, with whom he joined hands in marriage on April 20, 1968 in Sacred Heart Cathedral, Newark, NJ; his children, Jon Thomas Macholtz, Kristen Marie Macholtz, and Marianne and her husband, Brian O’Connor; and his grandchildren, Lucas and Reaghan O’Connor.
