Josephine Marie Brady, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family and under the caring watch of Hunterdon Hospice.
The following is a tribute written by her devoted children:
It seems appropriate on this day, January 31st, our father, John Brady’s 89th birthday, to pay tribute to our mom, Josephine Brady. On Monday, January 25, 2021, Mom entered her great reward at 91 years old. We are heartbroken but feel privileged and honored to be their children and the beneficiaries of such a solid foundation, laid by faith and love. Born March 2, 1929 in Mauch Chunk PA, she moved with her family to the Bronx in the early 1940’s. Number six of eleven siblings, Josephine helped her grandmother raise the younger siblings when her own mother passed away at the age of ten.
She is predeceased by her husband John (1976), her brothers Bob, Jack, and Hugh and her sisters Rosemary, Kathleen, Nan, Fran, and Pat. She is survived by her sisters Joan Amato and Eileen Colonna, and sisters in law, Alice Henry and Jean McDermott, her four children and their families, John and Terri Brady, Dan and Joanie Brady, Mary Amato, and Maureen and Ray Borzone, thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and almost fifty nieces and nephews. Josephine worked for Bank of America for years until her retirement, but her life was devoted to her family and faith.
Josephine’s life was poured out for others. Everything she did, from her work as a teenager contributing to the family finances, to her diligent attention to each of her children and grandchildren, was to bless the lives of those she loved. She brought people together. Everyone who met her was taken by her joyful spirit and could sense her deep gratitude. She made everyone feel important and kept herself aware and active about the things that mattered to them.
Life celebration services and interment are private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
