Liliane Intro Hollander, age 78 years, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died peacefully Monday, June 21, 2021 at Kindred Hospital East/St. Mary’s Hospital, Passaic, NJ.
Liliane was born in occupied France in 1943 to Jack and Jeannine where her family was forced into hiding until after the war. Her family immigrated to America on the Queen Mary in the early 1950’s, where she had to swear that she wasn’t a communist to gain entry to the country. To say she had a rough childhood would be a tremendous understatement.
She didn’t let that temulchuous start slow her down. She finished high school at a young age and obtained her Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy, a career she flourished in until a medical condition forced her to stop working. She married, had three children, re-married, and helped run Larry’s Thrifty Shoppe with her husband, Larry Hollander for over 30 years until he passed away in 2018. The store was a staple of the neighborhood, and she was beloved by her customers and friends. She did not have an easy life, but she certainly had a blessed one.
She is survived by her sons Erick (Barbara), Jeff (Brenda), and Scott (Maria); her grandchildren Jonathan (Jess), Aryn, and Rackel; her great grandchild Calvin; and her dog Allison.
Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, 67 Capner Street, Flemington, NJ, under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
