Lorraine Marie Murphy, age 64 years, of Union Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, September 18, 1952, daughter of the late Edmund and Marie Spinner Duchene, Lorraine had lived in Union Township since 1983, having formerly lived for many years in East Haven, CT.
She was a retired sales representative on the silver floor at Tiffany’s in New York City, NY. She then went on to manage the Eckard Pharmacy in Clinton, NJ for many years.
A gifted and talented artist, she did paintings and drawings, in pastel and in pencil. She also did some sculpting throughout her life. She enjoyed making art and each year attended two shows which she sold out every time. Lorraine used her art as a way of making people feel comfortable and happy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edmund Duchene, a sister, Annette Tupper, a brother-in-law, Roger Layne and a sister-in-law, Mary Murphy.
Surviving are her husband of forty-six years, Edward Martin Murphy with whom she joined hands in marriage on April 3, 1971 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Brooklyn, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Murphy and Amy Gregory of Bethlehem, PA; a a daughter, Janice Murphy of Union Township, NJ; three grandchildren, Nora, Abbey and Quinn; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlene and Joseph Szabo and Marie and Michael Ottati; a brother-in-law, Edward Tupper; a sister-in-law, Sharon Duchene; a brother-in-law, James Murphy; a brother-in-law and his wife, William and Theresa Murphy; a sister-in-law, Anne Layne; and many extended family and friends.
