Marietta A. Horn, age 68 years, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 in Kindred Hospice at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover, NJ.

Born in Berlin, Germany, November 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Stefanos and Ilse Charlotte Grau Neochoritis.

Marietta worked as a personal trainer for Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center for over eighteen years.

Fluent in four languages, she will be remembered for her strong-willed and determined, yet gentle personality. She was the one who went the extra mile in helping her patients and co-workers and always tried to do what was best for those in need.

Marietta had a menagerie of animals; from horses to birds to dogs to cats, she loved animals and provided an sanctuary to many. In addition to helping animals, she enjoyed surfing and spending any time on the water, from windsurfing to sailing to relaxing, she did it all.

Surviving are her daughter, Tina Horn; her longtime companion, Eric Marcello; and her former husband, James Horn.

She was preceded in death by two cherished sons, Brian Horn in 1971 and Randy Horn in 1988.

A Celebration of Life officiated by Rev. Tom Roberts will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Cherryville Baptist Church, 594 Cherryville Road, Flemington, NJ 08822. Arrangements and interment are under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ 08822.

Noch ein Nachtrag: Ich weiß nicht, ob Deine Tochter nach so vielen Jahren diese Zeilen noch liest, wenn ja, würde es mich freuen, wenn Sie mich per Mail konsultiert. Immerhin waren wir ca. ein Jahr die besten Freunde und verbrachten fast jeden Tag zusammen und verreisten auch gemeinsam.Ich bezahlte Dir sogar eine Griechenlandreise und beherbergte Deinen Hund Bento. Deine Mutter unterzeichnete ihre Geburtstagskarte an mich mit "Mutti Neochoritis". Jahrzehnte dachte ich fast nur an Dich. "In ewiger Liebe" stand in dem Ring, welchen ich Dir schenkte. Es waren nicht nur Worte, ich empfand und empfinde auch heute noch so, obwohl uns zwischenzeitlich so viel trennte und unsere Wege unterschiedlich verliefen. Liebe Marietta, ich habe Dich unendlich 1966 geliebt und in einem Winkel meines Herzens liebe ich Dich noch immer. Du wurdest mir zum Schicksal. Ich freue mich, dass es Dir gut ging, umso bestürzter bin ich über Deinen Tod. Mir gab das Leben unendlich viele schöne Jahre und ich bin heute noch überglücklich. Even though I didnt know you for very long, I enjoyed our kayaking and bike rides. Your cottage was a temporary home for me at the time...and as change has it, it was time to move on..may you rest in peace and I will miss you....Jane

You will be greatly missed. I was fortunate to have you as a massage therapist. Your massages were always the best and left me feeling very special. You always added extra touches. Which is a testament to how you choose to live your life. My condolences to your family.

My sincerest condolences to Tina, Eric, and James over Marietta’s untimely passing. I wish you comfort and healing and sincerely hope that the passing of time will bring you peace and allow you to continue to move on with your precious lives. Marietta always spoke fondly of her menagerie of animals, how much she enjoyed riding her horses, surfing in Hawaii, and gardening. She told many interesting stories about growing up in Greece and her recent visit there. I’ll always remember Marietta as a person who had a way of motivating others. As “Patriots Team” captain of the HWC 2014 NFL Fitness Challenge, a team I participated on, Marietta rightfully earned the title “Pushy”. She would call, text, and reach out in person to members of the team to encourage us to go the extra mile (and ask how many points did you earn?). Although it was a long 15 week challenge, our team placed 2nd. “Pushy” was the reason we did so well.

You touched the lives of so many and helped them to lead healthy, better lives. You spirit is greatly missed. Be at peace. My condolences to all of her family and many, many friends.
