Mary June Babyak, age 75 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Edwardsville, PA, September 6, 1940, daughter of the late Peter Michael and Loretta Borinski Skunda, she had resided in Raritan Township since 1964, having formerly lived in Hillside, NJ after growing up in Newark, NJ.
She had formerly worked for Garden State Liquors, Union, NJ for many years as a sales clerk. She was a longtime communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ and June was a loving woman who would do anything for her friends and family. She enjoyed gardening and her dancing skills are what led her to meet the love of her life, Andrew.
It was at a Polka Dance in Irvington, NJ where Andy saw June, tapped her on the shoulder and asked if he could have the next dance. They danced the night away and since that evening danced the rest of their lives together.
Since June’s dementia made it necessary for her to move to Hunterdon Care Center two years ago, Andy faithfully visited every day, three times a day, to be with his beloved wife. During that two year period he only missed several days and that was due to the Care Center not allowing visitors during a major flu outbreak. Their loving bond was unbreakable as he was at her side in the early morning hours when she passed away to her heavenly home. June’s entire family would like to send a special thanks to everyone at the Hunterdon Care Center for their compassion and selfless service over the past several years in their care of June and the whole family.
Surviving are her cherished husband, Andrew Babyak with whom she joined hands in marriage on April 18, 1964; a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Joseph Vybihal of Peachtree, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Joyce Skunda of Flemington, NJ and their children, June’s nephew, Michael and niece, Stephanie Skunda; June’s niece and her husband, Barbara and Robert Erkman and her great-niece, Alexandra Erkman; June’s niece, Diane Perrot and her great-nephews, Nicholas and Andrew Perrot; and many friends.
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
