Mary Sasor, age 99 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on December 6, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Julian and Philomena Zackrowski Goscicki, she had formerly resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Thatcher’s Hill in Raritan Township in 1960.
Mary had formerly worked for many years as a bookkeeper with Brillo, Inc., Brooklyn, NY.
After her first husband, Peter Szelwack died when they were young, Mary met and then later married Stanley Sasor. They enjoyed a wonderful married life of over forty-three years until his death in 2003.
A longtime and devoted communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, Mary was very proud of her faith. She enjoyed participating in many church activities and this family-orientated life helped her nurture a loving family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
A fan of the New York Mets, Mary was also fond of cooking and eating Polish food, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles and her crafts of knitting, quilting, cross-stitching and crocheting have left many wonderful treasures for her family.
In addition to her two spouses, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ibelli in 2002; a sister, Helen Pulkowski; and two brothers, Ted and Felix Goscicki.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Sasor of East Windsor, NJ and Rick and Shirley Sasor of Ringoes, NJ; a son-in-law, Anthony Ibelli of Brooklyn, NY; seven grandchildren, Juliette Ibelli and her husband, Juan Salazar, Anthony and wife, Joanne Ibelli, Peter Ibelli, Michael Sasor, Kelly Sasor, Jonathan and wife, Marlena Sasor and Sarah Sasor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Antony Arockiadoss in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 a.m., all in the funeral home.
