Matthew E. Knehans, age 46 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died on Monday, March 30, 2015 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born April 22, 1968 in Los Gatos, CA, he was the son of Erich A. Knehans, Auburn.
Matthew attended Valley Forge Military Academy where he was a member of the soccer and pistol teams; Graduated from DeSales University where he earned a BA in Computer Science.
A loving father and an avid outdoorsman, he was a talented photographer and accomplished poet and artist. He was of the Lutheran Faith and was also a member of the Sierra Club, the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
He was employed by Hewlett-Packard where he worked as a computer consultant. He was previously employed by Lucent Technologies.
Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his Uncle Sudz.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother Cheryl (Nabholz) Knehans, Auburn; his biological mother Carolyn Haas, Chesapeake, Va; his twin daughters whom he adored, Anna and Erika Knehans, Annadale, NJ; brother, Michael Knehans, Boston, MA; and sisters, Amy Knehans, Hershey, PA; and Amanda Knehans, Los Angeles, CA.
Funeral Services under the direction of Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsvile, PA, telephone 570.622.7888, will be held Thursday April 2 at 1:45 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1185 Summer Hill Road, Auburn, PA with Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner, Off. There will not be any calling hours prior to the funeral services. Interment will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Auburn.
