Meise Chang, age 77 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home.
Born in Taiwan, January 20, 1939, daughter of the late Ping-Wen Lin and Wang-Shih Lin-Wu, she emigrated to the United States in 1996.
Meise was a top chef whose cooking skills served her well as she worked for the Bank of Taiwan as a Chef for many years.
In addition to her cooking skills, Meise will be remembered as a vibrant and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her selfless nature is something that will also always be remembered and emulated by those who knew her.
Meise loved to be outdoors and always led a very active lifestyle. Her love of nature made her a very introspective person and helped her to always put others needs before her own.
She was preceded in death by a close friend, Zung Fong “Larry” Chang in 2015.
Surviving are her husband of forty-eight years, Wei-Chao Chang; a son, Shih-Chou Chang of Annandale, NJ; two daughters, Chiaofen Chang and Chiao-I Chang, both of Clinton Township, NJ; a granddaughter, Zoe Yen of Clinton Township, NJ and many friends.
Funeral and cremation services are private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the Buddhism Tzu Chi Foundation, 150 Commerce Road, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.
Here is what Zoe, granddaughter of Meise, would like to share about her Grandma:
“My grandmother was the best grandmother in the world. That was my thinking, at least. She was caring and fun. She always cared about others before she remembered herself. She was always right there when I needed her. She loved to cook. Her favorite color was purple. Her last words to my whole family was ‘Go eat your dinner.’ She was a grandmother all the way to the end. You may be very surprised, but my grandmother loved to watch TV.
When she lived in Taiwan, she worked as a bank chef in the large Bank of Taiwan. She loved listening to Namo Guan Shi Yin Pusa. Though she did know that she was in bad shape, she was ready and wanted to let nature take it’s course. She was a kind, loving grandmother, and I will miss her very much.”

Here is what CIC, CFC & SCC, the daughters & son of Meise, would like to share about their mom and her last wish:
“Mom was the anchor of the family since we were young. She was strong, loving, selfless, patient, and wise. Our mom always wanted everyone to be happy and living each minute as if it was the last.
To all her family and friends, she wanted you to know this: live your fullest, do not let anything or anyone stop you from pursuing what you believe in and wanted to do.
Along with grieving, let’s laugh while think back of memories of Meise and carrying forward with our lives and live better and stronger without regret. Our mom never wanted to trouble anyone, she was an extremely low key person and would expect everyone to respect her wishes.
Please send your prayers privately and remember Meise in your hearts and remind Meise in your prayers to follow Guan Shi Yin to the better world of haven. Namo Guan Shi Yin Pusa.”
