Michael “Big Mike” Snyder

Michael “Big Mike” Snyder, age 68 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Somerville, NJ, March 19, 1948, son of the late Paul Lawrence and Magdalen June Simon Snyder, he was a lifelong Hunterdon County, NJ resident.

A 1966 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Michael was a truck driver for the local teamsters union, driving for many area companies including Hunterdon Concrete for many years.

“Big Mike” will be remembered most for his kind heart and hearty laugh which served him well as he was an extremely active ‘supportive member’ of the Flemington V.F.W. Post #7856, always willing to help a veteran or their family with whatever needs they might have.

In addition to working hard and several civic activities, Michael greatly enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his loving wife and best friend, Bonnie Millhime Snyder; a sister, Karen Garland of New Gretna, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph David and Karen Snyder of Flemington, NJ; a nephew, David and his wife, Cindy Garland; a great niece and great nephew, Warren and Lenora Garland; and many friends.

Public graveside services will take place in the spring of 2017 in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ and will be announced under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
