Dear Dad, I am thankful for: Your sacrifice. You left your country and professional career to immigrate to America. You endured a harder life to create a better opportunity for your family. I will always be grateful for that. Teaching us the meaning of Family First. The wonderful marriage, parenting, and love shared by you and Mom set a standard for us to follow. I will never forget how you established and demanded attendance at weekly dinners on your only day off. This tradition taught us to prioritize time and attention to family over fancy vacations and luxury items. When we invited you to a celebration, we could always count on you to show up. Showing us that Action over Words matter. You always focused on hard work and kept a head-down mentality. We never had actual conversations about our grades, colleges, and job searches but we all ended up successful thanks to the example you set. With you as our role model, you made us more independent and accountable for ourselves. Driving me to Ohio for my 1st post-college job. You offered to drive with me and helped move me into my new place. I remember talking for hours and hours on that long ride. Our road trip also introduced me to the best steak and eggs I’ve had to date. I will always cherish that time spent on the road together. Introducing me to curry. I am very grateful for the delicious chicken curry you cooked. Even though you haven’t cooked curry for decades, it still remains my favorite dish. Our trip to Malaysia. You showed me parts of your homeland and introduced me to some of your siblings and relatives. We will continue to stay connected with your Malaysian home and family members, just as you did. You are missed but always with us. Love, Your Son Norman

We praise God for His many blessings shown in the wonderful life of my beloved uncle Kiong. Even though we had only met a few times when he went back to Malaysia, I always find him to be kind and really wanted to connect with his siblings and their families. He will be forever remembered, loved and fondly missed by all of us. Su vui
