Michael A. Ragazzo, age 96 years, a fifty-seven year resident of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the home of his daughter in Stanton, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, July 18, 1918, son of the late Nunziante and Carmella Mascatola Ragazzo, Michael worked on various farms in Hunterdon County as a young boy. This experience is what led him to return and raise his family in Sergeantsville, NJ.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran of World War II being honorably discharged in 1945.
A jokester with a big personality, Michael was a retired Foreman with the Hunterdon County Road Department where he had worked over thirty-five years. He was an outdoorsman who loved animals and raised chickens and rabbits. Michael was a life member of the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Company, and above all else, he loved his family and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Rose Rauseo Ragazzo in 2000 after sixty years of marriage, as well as by six brothers and one sister.
Surviving are his devoted children, Phyllis Alles of Crestview, FL, Annette Fazekas of Navesink, NJ, Michele Ragazzo of Doylestown, PA and Camille and husband, Jack Kille of Stanton, NJ; eleven loving grandchildren; and twelve cherished great grandchildren with three more due in several months.
Memorial Services will take place Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stanton Reformed Church, 1 Stanton Mountain Road, Stanton, NJ 08885, officiated by Revs. Phil Pratt and James DeVries.
