Born on May 23, 1945 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Vera Janushko Welenteychik, Olga grew up in High Bridge, NJ and had formerly lived in Alexandria Township and Clinton, NJ before moving to Raritan Township over twenty years ago.

A graduate of Trenton State, she worked for sixteen years as a middle school math teacher for the Warren Township school system. She then went on to work as an assistant director of programming for drug evaluations at Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals in Raritan, NJ for over twenty years. While there, she earned many accolades for her high level of consistent productivity while maintaining an unsurpassed level of quality in all her projects. She was awarded a “Consistent Exemplary Contributions” award by the company in 1999 for her efforts.

Anyone who knew Olga will forever remember her as a warm, outgoing, caring woman who did not have an enemy in the world. She would help anyone in need and when she set her mind to something, there was not a thing she would not accomplish.

After her retirement, she set out to become a Master Gardener through the Rutgers University program, and not only did she do that, but went on to become the financial coordinator for the program in Hunterdon County, NJ. She never looked at is as work, but rather as a way to help other’s appreciate the beauty that nature affords to all people. She was a mentor to many over the years as they went through the program, and for her over 2500 hours of volunteer service since 2007, the group awarded her their 2014 Award of Excellence.

She enjoyed traveling to flower and garden shows and was a member of the Kalmia Club, Lambertville, NJ, where she helped to set up house tours and mentor new members among many other ventures.

Most of all though, she was a loving and caring wife to her husband, John D. Trimmer, who she joined hands in marriage with on August 26, 1967 at the High Bridge Reformed Church, High Bridge, NJ. His “angel” with a smile that lit up any room, John will never forget the genuineness and selflessness with which she approached their marriage. Through his illness, she stood by his side and helped strengthen him every moment and he feels that he is a better man because of the love she brought to his life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Cavlier, a brother-in-law, Dave Heater and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Trimmer.

Surviving are her devoted husband, John D. Trimmer; her sister, Jane Heater; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Maryann Welenteychik and Michael and Sandy Welenteychik; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Trimmer, William Trimmer II and Marie Trimmer, and Kathy and Richard Hoffman; several nieces and nephews; and many caring and loyal friends.

A celebration of Olga’s life will take place on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, 08822. Private cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ and inurnment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, PA, will take place at a later date.

Olga will lie in repose on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home where family and friends are invited to help celebrate the life of this vibrant lady who touched so many with her warmth and love.

Dear Olga, I am so sorry that I wasn't able to accompany you in your last journey. I will always consider you a person who believed in my abilities and gave me a chance to prove myself, when you had hired me in 2004 in J&J. Because of your open mind, kindness and belief I was able to have a wonderful start as an immigrant in this country. May your memory be blessed forever and your legacy serve us as a eternal reminder of the importance of human kindness.

My condolences to John and the rest of Olga's family; I am very saddened by her passing. Olga was a wonderful manager and a very caring person. She will be missed.

Very sad to hear Olga's passing. I used to report to her for a few years --- she was one of the best managers I have had. She would take meticulous interest in everything that she did -- be it explaining things, giving advice on future development or providing feedback on my performance.

Dear John....I am still in shock over the sudden passing away of Olga. It's just so hard to believe this happened to a beautiful person like Olga. She was so active with Master Gardeners, working in her yard to make it so beautiful and just enjoying life itself. She will be missed so much by all those who knew her and touched their lives in some way. We didn't see each other much but we kept in touch through email and would sometimes see her at the Amish Restaurant so I will miss talking with her on here and seeing her at the Amish market. Olga will be missed by you and her family but just remember all the wonderful memories that you have of her. These memories will be forever in your heart and now Olga is that "special angel" in heaven now looking down and watching over you and all of her family. Dear John, so sorry to hear about Olga's passing. Even though I've been away from the MGs for a while now, I will never forget Olga. She was one of those amazing women that was always there whenever anything was needed... will always remember her kind and pleasant nature!

I am so saddened by the sudden loss of a truly wonderful person. Olga was my friend as well as co-leader of the Helpline in the Master Gardening organization. I am one of the beneficiaries of Olga's legacy as a mentor to Master Gardener interns. I spent many pleasant hours on Helpline duty with Olga, discussing gardening successes and failures, and I always learned something in those sessions. I will certainly miss her pleasant collegiality around the program. My sincere condolences to her husband and all her family, and her close friends and colleagues who have experienced a tremendous loss, and I want them to know that there are many others of us out here who share in feeling a profound sense of loss, of a valuable and appreciated contributor to the community of gardeners in our area.

Although I am fairly new to the Master Gardeners of Hunterdon County, I quickly came to understand what a devoted, intelligent, experienced member Olga had been. It has sent shockwaves through the organization that Olga is no longer with us. I was very saddened to hear that a former classmate and friend, Olga, has passed away. It seems like just yesterday that we were playing field hockey together and marching with the band through the streets of High Bridge. So wonderful that John and Olga had all those years together. My heartfelt condolences to you, John and family.

Olga was a one a kind person. Her warm smile and personality lit up any room she entered. As a Master Gardener, I have the privilege of working under her gentle direction during the plant sales. The world would be a better place if we had more Olgas. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I rember Olga as an excellent clarinet player. I looked up to her musicianship and tried to emulate her great timimg and precision. My deepest sympathy to all of her family.

Olga will truly be missed in the Master Gardener organization as she handled her responsibilities with dignity, honor and grace. Cheerful and kind, it was a privilege to present her with the Award for Excellence in 2014. My sincere condolences to her husband and family.

As a 2017 graduate of the master gardener class, I was drawn to Olga's kind, competent, strong yet gentle personality. When signing up for various activities, I would look for her name so I could perhaps be with her. I noticed she would take tasks that were not terribly popular because they had to be done. I did not know Olga for a long time, but I do know magnificence when I see it. Olga's magnificence lives on in lives touched and gardens grown.

Olga was a member of the Kalmia Club in Lambertville, part of the Federation of Women's Clubs, where I first met her. She helped me when I became a new member, and again when I became President, and helped the Club in many capacities over the years. Olga, there is a gap left by your departure. I will miss you my friend.

I am so, so sorry to hear of Olga's passing. She was a dear friend all through high school and I had the privilege to be her Maid of Honor. I regret that we did loose touch over the years that we lived out of the US, but in 1997, when I was visiting from overseas, we ran into each other in Flemington and I was invited that night for dinner. I remember Olga as a lovely person all during our school years. I did not have the opportunity to get to know her as an adult. But she sounds as if she led a very purposeful and full life. Very sorry to hear of her death.

Olga was such a warm kind presence.
