Pablo Jay Fraenkel, age 91 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died on Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Amsterdam, Holland, March 22, 1923, he was a resident of Kingwood Township since 1964, having previously lived in Manhattan and Queens, NY.
A massage therapist by trade, he loved to travel, especially to Europe and Israel. A faithful member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, Pablo very rarely missed services. He was a voracious reader and loved to keep up with world events.
His youth and life experience led him to write a book, “Who Will Carry My Bags?” about his experience in escaping from Nazi occupied Amsterdam and his travels throughout World War II trying to stay alive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Rosenbaum Fraenkel; a daughter, Anita Rawlins; and his longtime companion, Victoria Wakefield.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lola and Roland A. De Longoria of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; a grandson and his wife, Max and Tricia Aronow of Clarksburg, MD; a grandson, Cliff Aronow of San Diego, CA; a grandson and his wife, Darren and Dana Aronow of Manhasset Hills, NY; five great grandchildren, Danielle, Samantha, Spencer, Derek and Jackson Aronow; and many friends.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ 08822 under the care of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Flushing, NY 11367. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the Synagogue.
