Richard John Wells, age 74 years, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Utica, NY, November 5, 1942, son of the late Carl and Stella Stanton Wells, he had resided in Bethlehem Township for the past thirty years, having formerly lived in Fort Lee, NJ.
A United States Army veteran serving from 1962-1964, Richard then completed his education by attaining his M.S. in Business. He then began what would turn into a lifelong career at AT&T, Basking Ridge, NJ.
He was a devoted member of both the Clinton Township & Bethlehem Township CERT teams, where he did his best to help ensure the safety of the local community.
Richard loved to go hiking, bike riding and travel with the Delaware Valley Chapter of the AMC where he also served on the Executive Committee for many years and was the group’s go-to person on all technology matters.
Surviving are a sister, Judith A. Wells of Carthage, NY and many friends.
Funeral services and cremation at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Bernards Township, NJ, are private under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
