Thinking of Dick when we were all children 60 something years ago. Although Dick was 8 years older than me I do remember some of the antics my brothers and him would do. Rest in Heavenly Peace Dick.

We had many great times at his parents farm in Great Bend NY, growing up. Dick & sister Judy always made us welcome. Life goes by to fast. Love, Jim & Phyllis

I got to know Rich as a fellow participant in Chapter hikes and activities, then on the Executive Committee. Rich was kind and generous, and if you listened closely enough he was very funny. Rich was the Communication chair for the Chapter. In that role he embodied the word unfailing. He was always there when there was a question to be answered or a task to be done, and he always, always went the extra mile or ten for the Chapter. It was the kind of role that is easy to take for granted, because he was always there. Until now. Rich, you are missed.

I served with Rich on the AMC DV Executive Committee for three years. I grew to appreciate his wit, his generosity, and the multitude of tasks he did for the chapter in a quite and humble way. He will truly be missed by all of us with the AMC DV.

I have fond memories of Rich from AMC and hiking. He and I carpooled with our friend Bob to many hikes and events. Rich was an incredible computer whiz and donated hundreds of hours of his time to sending out the weekly activities calendar. We already feel his loss with this. Rich was kind to all. His knowledge of all things AMC, environmental, etc was incredible. To his sister, please accept my sympathies on the loss of your brother. I will miss him.

My deepest sympathies to the Wells family on Rich's sudden passing. I have known Rich for many years and have shared dozens of outdoor activities with him. Over the last several years Rich joined us for many biking/camping trips including Montauk Point, the Erie Canal, Lake Champlain and most recently Cape Cod. He will be missed and we at the AMC DelVal Chapter are all most appreciative of his selfless support and dedication. He will truly be missed.
