Robert C. “Robbie” Madison, age 49 years, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the residence of his beloved mother, Annette Housel, and surrounded by family and friends under the caring eye of Hunterdon Hospice.
Born in Paterson, NJ, February 5, 1968, son of Annette Cooper Jones Housel of Bethlehem Township, NJ and Calvin W. Madison of Ewing, NJ, he had resided in Bethlehem Township for the past two years, having formerly lived in Easton, PA, Phillipsburg, NJ and Flemington, NJ.
A 1986 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Flemington, NJ, Robbie went on to work as a machine operator for over seventeen years with Readington Farms, Whitehouse, NJ, where he received several awards for his dedicated service.
When thinking about Robbie, one need only to reflect on 2 Timothy 4:8 which states, “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Robbie was a child of God and that faith led him to be one of the most caring, happy and loving people anyone could know.
Never letting his illness get the best of him and surviving two kidney transplants, Robbie never once complained about being sick or used it as an excuse. Instead, he used it to show people that being grateful to God for life can make one a happier person and subsequently a kinder person to all people.
Robbie’s appreciation for each day that he was alive was evident in the way he lived his life. He was always caring for family and friends without pretense and showed others that a heart of strength, love and faith can conquer any of life’s daily difficulties. He knew that if one day he lost the battle against his illness, by being a good and faithful servant of God, he would wake up winning the war, and gaining the crown of glory that Timothy describes.
He was a dedicated New York Giants and NASCAR fan and was a member of a remote control car club in Raritan Township. He loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson’s. Mostly however, he simply enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Robbie was raised in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Flemington, NJ and was most recently attending the Salvation Army Church, Flemington, NJ. In 2008, he was proudly and humbly water baptized under the supervision of the Christian Assembly in Stewartsville, NJ.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory and live his legacy of love, compassion and kindness, his daughter, Kiara Mae Madison; his mother and step-father, Annette Cooper Jones Housel and Raymond Housel; his father and step-mother, Calvin W. and Cindy Madison; his younger twin brother by five minutes, Richard T. Madison; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services officiated by Lt. Adam Boynton will take place on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
