Ross Edward Percifield, II, age 66 years, of Bloomsbury, NJ, died on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born on March 27, 1951 in Edinburgh, Indiana, son of the late Ross Edward and Dorthy Marilyn Lincoln Percifield, he had lived in Bloomsbury since 2007, having formerly lived for many years in Phillipsburg, NJ.
A United States Air Force veteran serving in the early 1970’s, Ross was a freelance writer with an affinity towards poetry; he has had several books of poetry and other bodies of writing published over the years.
Nicknamed, “Buzz,” he was very athletic, playing football and track and field in college. His abilities were extremely strong and Ross missed the Olympic team in the javelin competition by just a few feet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stephanie Koontz.
Surviving are a sister, Kit Percifield of Yuma, AZ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Linda Percifield of Portsmouth, VA and Martin and Beth Percifield of Melbourne, FL; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral services followed by cremation at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ, were held under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
