Ruth Ann Simonelli, age 69 years, of Black Creek Township, PA, died on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, December 13, 1947, daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Lewallen Wilcox, she had resided in Black Creek Township for the past eleven years, having formerly lived in Yardville and Lawrenceville, NJ.
A graduate of Trenton Central High School, Class of 1966, Ruth was an aircraft test engine mechanic for the United States Naval Air Warfare Propulsion Center, Ewing, NJ.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and Nana, she was truly the rock of her family. Ruth’s genuineness coupled with her love made her a woman who was loved and cherished by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and Peter Simonelli.
Surviving are her husband of forty-nine years, Peter E. Simonelli, with whom she joined hands in marriage on May 18, 1968 at Olivet Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Kevin Portington of Woodbridge, NJ; her grandson, Kyle Portington; a sister, Kathleen Wilcox; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Janet Wilcox; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services followed by cremation are private at the Chapel of Ewing Crematory, Ewing Township, NJ under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.
