Scott James Daly, age 56 years, of Upper Black Eddy, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family and under the caring watch of Doylestown Hospice.
Born in South Plainfield, NJ, February 7, 1964, son of the late Thomas and Dolores Black Daly, he had lived in Hunterdon County, NJ for many years prior to moving to Upper Black Eddy, PA four years ago.
Graduating from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1982, Scott would go on to work as a restaurant manager for many years.
Caring and loving whose smile and laughter would light up a room, he will be most remembered as a family man. Scott also enjoyed cooking and was known as the “Grill Master”.
A passionate lover of music, one of his favorite artists was Tom T. Hall, whose song, “I Love”, speaks to much of Scott’s persona:
“I love little baby ducks, old pickup trucks
Slow-movin’ trains and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams
Sunday school in May and hay
And I love you, too
I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends
Birds of the world and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups
Bourbon in a glass and grass
And I love you, too
I love honest, open smiles, kisses from a child
Tomatoes on the vine and onions
I love winners when they cry, losers when they cry
Music when it’s good and life
And I love you, too”
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by a brother, James.
Surviving are his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Michele; his three sons, Darren Ferrante and his wife, Tara, Daniel Daly, and Michael Daly; two brothers, John Daly and his wife, Jennifer, and Thomas Daly and his wife, Charlene; a sister, LoriAnn Gibbs and her husband, Robert; the one that always put a sparkle in his eyes, his granddaughter, Darrah Lou; and many dear friends.
