Shirley Kilian, age 81 years, of Franklin Township, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Life celebration services will be announced under the care and direction of Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ.

Cremation will be private under the care and supervision of the Wright & Ford Licensed Care Team.

Shirley was a unique woman of strength, character and ambition. It was fun to describe her to people for she was a concert pianist, pilot, UPS driver, sailor, and landscaper. However, on top of all that, she had a tremendous heart to give. She lived modestly, enjoyed her pets and valued common sense. I'm sorry she struggled near the end and I hope to see her again. Shirley is will be fondly remembered by our family.

If you look very closely in this photograph, you will see a music theory lesson on the scale degree. She gave me this lesson while we were making parts for her lawn mower. To this day the lesson still can be seen on the wall over the top of my lathe in the shop.

Shirley was a brilliant musician. She was proficient in both the harp and piano. She had a pilot's license and ran a landscaping business for many years. She was a good friend of our family and will be sorely missed.
